　　20世纪50年代初，古巴哈瓦那，革命的烈火与拉丁的激情齐头并进。在当地一家夜总会中，拉斯特家的两兄弟西萨尔（阿曼德·阿山特 Armand Assante 饰）和内斯特（安东尼奥·班德拉斯 Antonio Banderas 饰）联袂表演曼波，小有名气。内斯特与美丽的玛丽亚相恋，谁知夜总会老板却威逼利诱霸占了玛丽亚。在黑暗的强权面前，拉斯特兄弟黯然离开哈瓦那，前往美国纽约投奔表兄。这对心高气傲的兄弟刚抵达目的地，便前往城中最棒的夜总会。西萨尔出色的即兴表演引起了众多名制作人和老板的注意，也赢得美人拉娜的芳心。不久后，拉斯特兄弟的曼波王乐队成立，在大都会纽约谱写着他们的悲喜传奇……
