　　好莱坞着名搞怪导演蒂姆．伯顿监制的怪异喜剧，描写少年讨厌鬼克里斯．埃利奥特前往他父亲在夏威夷的旅馆时上错船，竟跑到一艘渔船上面去，终日被那些没水准的渔夫虐待，但他竟然因此获得成长变成男子汉。本片剧情有如斯潘塞．特蕾西的金像奖代表作《船长的勇气》，属于青少年的启蒙电影，但导演亚当．雷斯尼克改走喜剧路线，大肆卖弄男主角那种惹人讨厌的富家子唯我独尊式嘴脸，不过也同时有相当多令人捧腹的视觉笑料。包括脱口秀主持人大卫．赖特曼等多位名人在片中客串亮相，颇有出人意料的娱乐效果。
